The Lents Neighborhood is seeing renewal through its four construction projects, scheduled for completion in 2018! The redevelopment of the area has been long awaited… The Lents Town Center Renewal Area was formed in 1998 by the Portland Development Commission, who has invested over $90 million in Infrastructure. However, the actual transformation had been on hold until 2014 when a 5-year action plan was put in place to finally start. Currently, 3 projects are under construction. The four projects and their timelines include:
- Oliver Station– Mixed use buildings offering about 125 affordable housing units, as well as commercial space below. Construction started around December of 2016. Expected completion in Spring of 2018.
- SE Foster Project– Mixed use building with 54 units. Construction started in October of 2016, expected completion in Fall of 2017
- Asian Health & Service Center– Construction started around December of 2016. Expected completion in Winter of 2018.
- Woody Guthrie Place– Construction expected to start around March of 2017. Expected completion in Summer of 2018.
